Dial the Area Code even if it is the same as the area you are calling from. Providing the Area Code on long distance calls placed with the Operator helps your call get through faster. For example, on a call to Chicago say, "I want Area Code 312, Area Code Maps 555-2388. " When you ask someone to call you back from another telephone area, always include your Area Code as part of your telephone number. 12
